Aaron Arthur represents multinational corporate clients engaged in complex litigation in state and federal court, with a focus on product liability cases involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Before joining the firm, Aaron practiced in the litigation practice group of an Am Law 100 firm based in Philadelphia.

Aaron litigates matters in a variety of areas, including products liability, mass tort, toxic tort, personal injury/wrongful death, and commercial actions. He has represented manufacturers of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, industrial and commercial equipment, motor vehicles, and consumer products involved in litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States.

Aaron has years of experience in complex litigation and multidistrict litigation, including as a member of the expert witness teams in the two largest multidistrict litigations in U.S. history. He focuses on the identification, development, and defense of general and case-specific experts from various disciplines. He also has significant experience coordinating expert discovery and the preparation of dispositive and expert motions as a part of virtual client service teams involving numerous law firms.

Aaron earned his J.D. in 2010 from Cornell Law School. While attending law school, he served as a Managing Editor of the Cornell International Law Journal, a research assistant to Professor Barbara Holden-Smith, and as a Lawyering Honors Fellow in a legal writing course for first-year law students.

In 2005, Aaron graduated magna cum laude and in University Honors with a B.A. in history from Marshall University, where he was a John Marshall Scholar and served as a research and teaching assistant to the late Professor Jean Edward Smith.

As part of the defense of a medical device manufacturer in multidistrict litigation, responsibility for Wave expert witness strategy and implementation, including identifying experts across various disciplines, coordinating the development of expert witness, taking and defending expert depositions, and serving as an editor for dispositive and Daubert briefing.

Represented manufacturer in nationwide litigation regarding allegedly fraudulent marketing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, including managing case workup in dozens of individual cases brought by state and municipal governments, coordinating case team in fact discovery under an expedited scheduling order, arguing motions before discovery commissioner, negotiating with state governments in discovery disputes, managing local counsel, and taking fact witness depositions.

Represented respiratory device manufacturer in multidistrict litigation as part of global discovery team, including developing discovery strategy and protocols, coordinating with product managers and in-house legal team, and supervising team members in a large-scale document collection and review.

Represented numerous manufacturers of industrial and commercial products in mass tort litigation arising from alleged exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals, including managing multi-jurisdictional teams handling hundreds of cases on annual basis in all phases of litigation, developing product-focused resolution strategies, representing clients in settlement conferences/mediations and hearings, and taking plaintiff and fact witness depositions.

As part of the defense of a medical device manufacturer in multidistrict litigation, responsibility for Wave discovery, including identifying experts across multiple disciplines, working with experts throughout discovery and in preparation for trial, preparing company witnesses for depositions and trial, taking treating physician depositions, coordinating dispositive and Daubert motion drafting across multiple law firms, and preparing dispositive and Daubert motions.

Represented Japanese automotive manufacturer in allegedly defective airbag litigation involving personal injury and wrongful death, including managing fact discovery, developing factual defenses and trial strategy, preparing dispositive and Daubert motion briefing, and coordinating with national counsel.

Represented U.S. tractor-trailer manufacturer in personal injury and wrongful death action, including managing discovery, taking fact witness depositions, preparing and arguing discovery motions, and coordinating with national counsel.

Represented German and U.S. automotive manufacturers in personal injury action based on alleged design defect, including managing discovery process, preparing dispositive motions, representing client in hearings, and coordinating with national counsel.

Represented U.S. equipment manufacturer in personal injury action based on design defect allegations, including managing discovery process, taking fact witness depositions, conducting document reviews, preparing and arguing dispositive and Daubert motions, representing client in hearings, and coordinating with national counsel.

Represented U.S. transportation company in action for indemnification of underlying personal injury claim, including managing discovery process, preparing dispositive motions, representing client in hearings, and coordinating with national counsel.

Represented U.S. equipment manufacturer in personal injury action based on design defect allegations, including managing discovery process, taking plaintiff and fact witness depositions, conducting on-site inspection and document review, representing client in hearings, and coordinating with national counsel.

Represented multinational consumer product manufacturer involved in U.S. healthcare recoupment actions and Canadian class actions, including preparing corporate representatives and experts for deposition and trial testimony, conducting large-scale document reviews, and preparing dispositive motions.
