David has maintained a vibrant commercial litigation practice for the last 20 years. Traditionally David's focus has been devoted to financial services litigation representing lenders, loan servicers, investors and consumers alike in federal and state court actions, arbitration, mediation, bankruptcy adversary proceedings and appellate proceedings.

David regularly counsels clients regarding numerous federal and state consumer protection laws, compliance with federal and state banking laws and has tried cases alleging improper loan collection, predatory lending, fraud, negligence and violations of federal and state consumer credit and protection acts. David has previously served as regional counsel for one of the country's largest national banking associations, overseeing litigation in a geographic area covering 16 states.

In addition to representing clients in the financial services industry, David has broad experience in litigation involving the construction industry, the energy industry (including coal, oil, natural gas and electric power generation industries), the transportation industry and product manufacture and design.

David maintains a broad practice at Thomas Combs & Spann by representing clients in a variety of industries in all types of complex litigation in West Virginia's federal and state courts.
